Emergency crews attend Hillingdon accident
A WOMAN and child had to be freed from their car by firefighters after an accident at a known blackspot on Friday afternoon.
Two cars collided at the junction of Star Road, and Uxbridge Road, in Hillingdon on Friday at 4pm.
A woman and a 12 year old child were taken to hospital, but they escaped with minor injuries.
Anton Takacs, who works at Byron Butchers, on Uxbridge Road, was one of many to witness the accident, and said it is the fourth serious one on the same stretch of road this year.
It is also yards from the scene where 43 year old Surinder Singh, was killed crossing Uxbridge Road, near the junction of Marlborough Avenue.
Mr Takacs said: "£70,000 was spent on this junction earlier this year, and if you ask 90 per cent of people they would say it has made no change.
"All the emergency crews were down here on Friday, two police cars, two ambulance crews and two fire engines.
"We feel sure there are going to be at least two or three more serious accidents along here before Christmas, there needs to be some serious investment, not small amounts of money which do not do anything."
