Royal visit at Hillingdon Manor School?

A MOTHER who was nominated for a prestigious 'Woman of Substance Awards' may have secured a royal visit to Hillingdon.

Anna Kennedy, who set up the highly successful Hillingdon Manor School, was one of eight women invited to The Dorchester Hotel in central London in recognition of her tireless work.

Anna said: "I gave a copy of my book to Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, to ask if she could come and visit the school in its 10th birthday year.

"She said that she would love to and will make arrangements."

In addition this, Mrs Kennedy met celebrities Gaby Roslin, Aggie McKennzie, Cherie Blair, Emma Forbes and Esther Rantzen, who came along specifically to support Anna.

As one of the runners up, Anna was given a commendation certificate, £100 Debenhams vouchers, and signed copies of Barbara Taylor Bradford's books, the author who inspired the awards.

Anna has two sons, one with Asperger's syndrome, and one with Autism, and determined to give them a better chance in life, she set up Hillingdon Manor School to give many like them an ideal place to learn.

Anna added: "One thing that was interesting last night was that everyone I spoke to either knew someone with a child with autism or were related to a child or adult with autism and stated that they were all struggling either to get a diagnosis, statement of educational needs or fighting to get into the right school.

"Nothing appears to have changed much since by boys were diagnosed all those years ago."

We'd like to hear from you.
