THE Department of Transport are to open up the Exceptional Hardship scheme for those affected by the current route for HS2 on August 20.
The decision was announced on Monday, after 4,500 responses were received from around the country about what action the Government should take to address those blighted by a high speed line.
Among those to contributed were the Ickenham Residents Association, who reported that the Government consultation and information on the route had been inadequate, and the Harmondsworth and Sipson Residents Association who had to live with eight years of blight from Heathrow's proposed third runway.

A DECISION was set to be made last night on a year long battle to turn a derelict pub into a supermarket.
The Oak Tree pub, at 132 Ryefield Avenue, Hillingdon, has been the controversial location for the opening of a new supermarket, but residents, unhappy at proposals have sought to stop it.
A victory seemed on the cards as councillors recommended it be refused, but residents are not sure the battle is over.
Constance Evans, chair of the Oak Farm Residents Association, said: "We hope they do not appeal, to the planning inspectorate in Bristol, but we expect they will."
The supermarket would be a Nisa, and the plans also included space for four flats above it.
A group of residents protested against the proposals last August, and at a planning meeting the venture was thrown out on an architectural technicality.
A meeting took place last night (Tues) on a revised bid for the change of use application, which saw three petitioners speak up against it, including Mrs Evans.
"It would be open late, and if they got a license to sell alcohol, there is potential it could become a nuisance like the Oak Tree pub became."
The application was listed for refusal on the grounds of inadequate parking provision, and inadequate arrangements for deliveries.
A licensing meeting is due to take place today (Wed) at the civic centre on the applicant, Nisa's bid, for a liquor license, which they are seeking to obtain irrespective of last night's planning outcome.
